About Us
Hillpoint Energy (formerly Summit Development) was founded by Ben Spitz in 2000. Mr. Spitz is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Spitz has been involved in the energy industry since 1991 when he joined Raytheon. At Raytheon he worked as an engineer and project manager for their energy group and was involved with coal, cogeneration, nuclear and fusion energy projects. Subsequent to Raytheon, Mr. Spitz was employed as a business development executive for a number of technology startup companies.
Hillpoint Energy, under the leadership of Mr. Spitz has been providing a host of consulting services relating to energy technology for companies ranging in size from billion dollar multinational corporations to startup companies. His strong technical background as well as his extensive business and financial experience provide an excellent combination for analyzing and acting on the often confusing nature of highly technical projects.

Arel Weisberg, Ph.D. serves as a Technology Advisor for Hillpoint Energy. Dr. Weisberg received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 1996. He received his Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Dr. Weisberg’s areas of expertise include aerodynamics and heat transfer, optical technologies from the ultraviolet to the infrared, and laser-based sensors. Dr. Weisberg has worked on industrial energy-saving projects in the aluminum and glass industries, including recycled materials projects, and has also been involved in coal-fired power related projects.
Writing winning grant proposals is a valuable skill that Dr. Weisberg brings to Hillpoint. He has written successful advanced technology proposals to U.S. federal and state agencies in a number of different fields on behalf of private companies. These agencies include the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation. Winning these grants mitigates the risk involved in cutting-edge R&D and greatly facilitates transforming new technologies from concepts into products.

| Evan Goldstein graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2000 and was awarded his Professional Engineering License in the State of California in 2006. He has extensive academic research experience in diverse topics within the field of environmental engineering. His research and design experience also includes risk management studies in the aerospace and nuclear industries. Mr. Goldstein has spent the last six years with Carollo Engineers designing mechanical systems for large-scale water treatment plants and following through with coordination of faclity construction.
Mr. Goldstein's contribution to the Hillpoint team is in design, construction, and testing of mechanical systems. His experience in both academic research experimentation as well as private sector design and construction of industrial systems are ideal skills for bringing theoretical solutions to engineering challenges through to sucessful solution.

Ariel Cohen is recently graduated from Imperial College London, receiving his Masters (Hons.) in Aeronautical Engineering in 2006. He has academic R&D experience relating to the mechanics of rotor design for large helicopter systems and has also carried out research into the passive control of jet flows thorugh manipulation of turbulent mixing in the jet-flow boundary layer.
Mr. Cohen's unique combination of aeronautical and mechanical design experience enhances the ability of the Hillpoint team to implement its hybrid solutions.
